Therapy Dogs require one year of training and should pass the PAT test. The training can be done by the owner, online or with a training class/group. 

Assist dogs need a minimum of 26 months of training, to pass the PACT test and be able to perform 3 service tasks. The training can be done by the owner, with an online training class or with a training/group/class.
